Children in Bulgaria - CANNOT BECOME MEMBERS
by compound complex indear friends, .
on various fronts there has been much discussion on the children of jehovah's witnesses being pushed into premature baptism.
the statement that the society prepared for the european commission on human rights, however, is quite revealing.

Dear Repliers,
Thank you, once again. So, fiction has become "fact" in the minds of many. Just look at the Revelation Climax book. Thank you, Ray Franz, for your contribution toward our emancipation.

Dear Newest Best Friends,
We spend a lot of time here - learning and helping one another out - a worldwide "brother- and sisterhood." Quite different from what we left behind. But we had to have had some good times and really good friends. Ups and downs. Did you ever have a relationship that was NOT an emotional rollercoaster ride and was mutually uplifting? Not necessarily perfect. With a grandparent, teacher/mentor, sibling, dog, pet rock? In my case, it was usually an older, wiser, more patient person, who smiled and put up with me...how about you?

Thank you Gary, maybe it's no more than what you have said.
Yet......
The involvement of children is ALLEGED?
They can only PARTICIPATE?
They CANNOT BECOME MEMBERS?
Please help me get the point.........What does it mean to participate BUT not become a member? Aren't baptized persons of any age subject to ecclesiastical jurisdiction by the WT and her agents? Is it fruitless to try and understand WT legalese, particularly the overseas' version, where there is an ulterior motive? I would appreciate more insight into the matter. Thank you.

The Sorrow and the Pity of the Watchtower: denial of DUE PROCESS
by Terry innounthe state, action, or principle of treating all persons equally in accordance with the law.
fairness is something familiar to even the smallest child.
being treated without bias is a hunger humanity has fought for in every society; some less successfully than in present day.. in america we are guaranteed fairness when dealing with the state or federal government due to the imbalance of relative power between the individual and the state.

Greetings Terry,
In going over your presentation, I remembered something that I had written down long ago, directly from the PC screen. When new to the process of discovery, I was so intent on gathering revelatory fact, that I frequently failed to copy down the source. I do regret that failure on my part. The text and source are surely easy enough to locate for one not so cyber-challenged as I.
"Millenarian belief systems pose difficulties for modern families"
"The Watchtower regime cannot tolerate mavericks as there is no mechanism for taking into account personal motives for action. Members must balance obligations toward their loved ones and their sense of religious duty. People who cross ascetic boundaries are symbolically matter out of place and provoke disapproval. They are people emanating danger as they pass from one state to another."
and,
"Often false prophets, when caught, try to shift the emphasis by falling back on their humanity. They would like everyone to forget the original facade and arrogance as they pretended to be the pipeline to the Holy Spirit." - Kurt Goedelman
I find that divorce from the WTBTS and henceforth gathering with two or three in Christ's name, is spiritually satisfying; i.e., it works for me. Due process simply is not a part of the operational mechanism of the WTS.
I really enjoy your format and the development of your ideas, Terry - not at all hard to follow.

Hello Triple A,
"Reasonable persons agree that the only fair method is to examine the evidence on both sides, both for and against a disputed theory. That is how one arrives at the Truth." - AWAKE!, 10/22/73, p. 6
"Within any important issue, there are always aspects no one wishes to discuss." - George Orwell
"When persons are in great danger from a source that they do not suspect or are being misled by those they consider friends, is it an unkindness to warn them? They may prefer not to believe the warning. They may even resent it. But does that free one from the moral resposibility to give that warning?" - WT 1/15/74, p.?
A little food for thought..............

The Prophet's Censors...
by Justice-One ini'm thinking about taping this to the front door of the kindom hall.
"for the first time in my life, i'm reading things, which have not been approved by the prophet's censors, (aka the governing body) and the impact on my mind is devastating.
sometimes i glance over my shoulder to see who might be watching me, frightened in spite of myself.

Greetings Justice-One,
On a clear day you can see forever...... I too am feeling a new-found freedom and am grateful at long last to express myself. No details are necessary as most of us here are on the same wave length. I like the way you express yourself.
"Whoever has even once become notorious by base fraud, even if he speaks the truth, gains no belief." - Phaedrus, FABLES
Words such as "notorious", "base", and "fraud" should not even be uttered in the same breath as one's [once-] cherished faith. "Truth" is not what it used to be - in our hearts and minds.

HOW THE JUDGE STOLE CHRISTMAS
by Mary inde judge hated christmas!

Dear Mary,
Off to bed, visions of sugar plums dancing in your head? Oh, after 45 years away, can't 'spect me to remember the words....
Well, if in his heart JFR truly denied Christmas, then there'd be no stake of holly driven through said heart [do you think he actually had one?] and he'd be eating his pudding and not boiled in it. They say the proof of the pudding is in the eating [drinking] of it --- how many proof was the Judge's pudding, d'ya think?
Irreverently yours,

Is depression unique to exjw's? Is it religion in general that causes it?
by hambeak ini have noticed a large number of topics are about depression, some of mine included.. do you think that having been in the borg and losing lifelong friends and family because you no longer buy into their interpretation, is unique to jw's or do most other religions play these mind games?.

Welcome back, Hambeak!
I was sorting through one year's worth of notes taken from every available source, and I think the following may work for you:
www.freeminds.org/buss/delusion.htm - Some of Gary's words of wisdom:
"I saw myself missing my own life because I was keeping to the agenda of my parents, or my father-in-law, or my brother, or my wife, or my kids. I was out of control and I needed some."
On Shunning: "Hatred needs a focus. Love does not. A benevolent, deity worshipping, group is non-confrontational, non-judgmental, and non-inquisitional."
Just a little from uncle Gary to cheer you up! (apologies to GB if I screwed up!) You and I both know we've come to the right place.
Love,

Dear V and Gary,
Thanx for your replies and supplemental information. A big mistake letting my subscriptions expire. My question revolves around the specific words chosen for the application - meant to appease or put the government off the scent? I do get your point, however, Gary, about a paid membership. The following text concerns me, though, about the WTS saying 'you may think you have a relationship with Jehovah, but you've broken a rule, you're not sorry, so out you go!':
"A basis for APPROVED fellowship with Jehovah's Witnesses cannot rest merely on a belief in God, in the Bible, in Jesus Christ, and so forth... Simply professing to have such beliefs would NOT AUTHORIZE one to be known as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Approved association with Jehovah's Witnesses requires accepting the ENTIRE RANGE of the TRUE TEACHINGS of the Bible, including those Scriptural BELIEFS that are UNIQUE to Jehovah's Witnesses." WT 4/1/86, p.31 [CC: emphasis]
NOT AUTHORIZED?!? I guess what confuses me is the legalism. Serving God was never so difficult as presented and enforced by the GB and the legal department of the WTS. I really don't mean to sound harsh.
Thanx again for your input,
Compound-Complex
